Basic Arc Afternoon

Arc welding is a versatile process.

It is a bit trickier to get used to than mig welding. However if you are thinking of setting up a welder in your own workspace this is the cheapest and most accessible form of welding. The machines are under £250 new for a good make, you do not need gas and a box of electrodes cost about £20 .

Arc welding requires a lot of practice so for this class we concentrate more on sticking metal together rather than making a specific object.

We will only be taking one person at a time for this class, and will be a combination of demonstration and hands on practice. You will have access to your own welder throughout the class.

You will be provided with safety gear to use during the class -helmet, leather coat, leather gloves, and goggles. It is essential that you wear strong shoes and full length trousers that will be resistant to sparks and offer protection from pieces of metal being dropped to attend the class.

This is a 1 1/2hour class and the cost is £65 inc materials.
